'I have a flexible yet defined style of music which, above all else, emphasises narrative. Though I have written for a diverse range of instruments and purposes across a wide variety of genres, I always compose music based on the emotions I feel when considering experiences, stories, or pictures I have in my mind.

As pretentious as it sounds, I have always considered myself primarily a writer, with music being the ultimate medium for my writing. Music is the tool I use to express myself and understand the world and this can be seen across all of the music that I write, whether that is concert music, music for media, or any of my solo music. For this reason, my feelings will always be the greatest source of inspiration to me.'
